BRE Support at 2/6 Board Meeting
If this student was given proper behavioral support sooner then that situation would never have happened. The teacher would still be in the classroom!
Kevin Butscher, BRE Parent
Bittersweet victory in replacing the principal, because same day lost 2 more amazing teachers, who are under investigation by the District, Mrs. Currie and Mrs. Hernandez. We are not going away and want true change at district level to ensure our principal, AP, students and teachers are supported!

Main issues
- Thanks you board and Superintendent, but we the voters are not happy with what your inaction caused
- We admire and Support new Interm principal Mrs Warner who is amazing and assistant principal Mrs Freedman who is new and full of passion to help our kids
- We are Confident if we work together we can return BRE to greatness!
- Thanks you board and Superintendent for finally taking action, but we the voter’s are not happy by the slow reaction to our concerns from Jan 16th meeting
- Why were we forced to send a message by pulling 43 percent kids out of school for 2 days to see action taken??
- I want to remind the Board we elected you and only 2 really supported us!
- Not sure what other’s agendas are since we elected you to fight for us.
- So you need to prove why we should elect you again
- So time for you to listen and be proactive in future!
- Learn from this horrible mistake of non action!
- Please Not repeat in future.
- Huge Impact of inaction did to our school.
- Students got little support and teachers suffer and some left even mid year.
- If this Student was given proper behavioral support sooner then that situation would never have happened. Mrs BC would still be teaching!
- Bittersweet victory: Same day lost 2 more teachers, who are under investigation by the District:
- Currie and Hernandez.
- 2 amazing teachers that were part of the BRE family!!
- Difficult for the kids to adjust in Crums class since she left
- Substitute options are minimal and we need good long term subs.
- We still need to get our teachers and kids supported!
- Kids that need additional behavior help, some with special needs.
- Need to help kids with behavior issues quickly, so they can succeed!
- It should not take 6 months to 5 years to get support
- The boards and superintendent job are to get funding for special education, so please do your best. Talk with City council to push federal government to pay what they promised
- We need trained behavior aides provided for these kids that are struggling!
- Etiwanda school district teacher 30 days behavior help, collect data to justify need and actually help them
- Term “willful defiance,” does NOT include Violence
- Defined in state code as “disrupt[ing] school activities or otherwise willfully def[ying]” authority.
- It can include using a cell phone in class, wearing a hat and even chewing bubble gum.
- Not bullying, bring knife, gun, or violent behavior causing students to be fearful.
- We are not going away and want true change at district level to ensure our principal, AP, students and teachers are supported!
- Now I wish I could say our schools different than other schools. But I am hearing for other schools in district that they are having similar issues with.
